Maison Margiela X Reebok
This Wednesday, January 22nd, during the fashion show of its haute couture line, "Artisanal", Maison Margiela will showcase its iconic Tabi shoes, this time revisited in the style of a sneaker. Signed with Reebok, this new object of desire fuses the aesthetic of the cult Japanese shoe imagined in 1998 and which became the signature of the French sneaker house Instapump Fury by Reebok, launched in 1994.
Merging the codes of Tabi and Instapump Fury is the aim of this creation by John Galliano, artistic director of Maison Margiela since October 2014. We find a supplement of haute couture and know-how to the American sportswear brand's sneakers.
A very hype and conceptual result thanks to the assembly of a shoe dressed with the emblematic split toe of the Tabi with the iconic and futuristic signature of the Instapump Fury: the sole being inflated with a small pump placed on the top of the shoe.
Flat option, with a sole inspired by that of the Retro Fit sneaker imagined in 2018 by Maison Margiela or with heels, with those of the Instapump Fury by Reebok, each of them features the logos of both labels, declined in an all-black style or in a wide range of colours, yellow, red, black and white. Sold-out? Absolutely.
